Ayaka Fujii is an artist, curator and project coordinator.
With third-culture roots across Japan, Malaysia, and Thailand, and experience living in cities around the world, including New York City and now Singapore, she is driven by the relationships between people and places, and the essence of connectedness that weaves spectres across the personal to the planetary.
Her ongoing research and practice engages embodiment and somatic sensing, nature-culture entanglement and emergence, and re-imagining intimate worlds and futures in a time of deep unraveling. Notable projects include, curating Phreatic! in collaboration with WetLab NYU (curatorial laboratory and art-science centre), choreographing Earth, Here with OpenEARTHStudio (NYC), and coordinating research-based regional projects at the acclaimed performance company, T:>Works (Singapore).
She holds a B.A. from NYU Gallatin School of Individualised Study in Performance Studies and Environmental Psychology, and a minor in Peace and Conflict Studies from NYU Steinhardt.
